Overview
Women Beginner+ Pistol Course is an entry level handgun class designed for the shooter with minimal or no formal handgun training. This class will progress the shooter through the basic necessities of handling a defensive pistol. Course provides the very foundation of knowledge and skill necessary to safely handle handguns in a comfortable learning environment. This informational class covers many topics including the purchase, storage, transportation, carry, and cleaning of a firearm, as well as an overview of laws regarding self-defense.

Course Outline
- Responsible firearms ownership and applications of the handgun
- Firearms safety for the home, workplace, and vehicle
- Safety concerns and practices while training and while carrying a firearm
- Safe use and handling of firearms
- Locking devices and techniques for firearms to prevent unauthorized access
- Potential dangers (penetration, ricochet, misidentification, accidental discharges, etc.)
- Ready positions
- Components and operation of modern pistols
- Types, components, and purposes of modern ammunition
- Applicable laws relating to the possession, transportation, and storage of firearms
- General guidelines on interstate travel with firearms
- Administrative loading and unloading of pistols
- Fundamentals of basic shooting techniques
- Preventative maintenance (cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and safe storage)
Equipment List
- Quality functional semi-automatic pistol
- Estimated round count: 250 rounds
- 3 magazines minimum
- Optional, loading devices
- Hip-mounted holster or belt-mounted holster
- Magazine pouch(es)
- Sturdy belt at least 1.5″ wide
- Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
- Clothing suitable for training in any weather, pants must have belt loops (no scoop neck or V-neck shirts are allowed)
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Earmuffs and/or earplugs
- Ammunition is available at the range for an additional fee.
- Bring a lunch, snacks, and sunscreen, we provide bottled water free of charge
